inch   m argin   a round   e ach   b ox.      
Gameplay:    
• Clap   a   s hort   r hythm   t o   t he   s tudent(s)   t hat   i nvolves   o nly   t wo  
different   k inds   o f   n ote   v alues   ( choices   a re:   e ither   q uarter  
and   h alf   n otes;   o r,   e ighth   n otes   a nd   q uarter   n otes).     R epeat  
if   n eeded.    
• Note:   w ith   y oung   s tudents,   y ou   m ay   w ish   t o   c hant  
something   l ike,   “ Drip,   d rip,   r ain-­‐bow,”   a s   y ou   c lap.    
• Ask   t he   s tudent(s)   t o   c lap   i t   b ack.      
• Ask   t he   s tudent(s)   t o   n otate   t he   r hythm   t hey   h eard   u sing   t he  
raindrop   a nd   t he   r ainbow   c ards.     S tudents   m ay   w ork   a lone  
or   i n   p airs/groups,   d epending   o n   h ow   y ou   w ish   t o   d ivide  
them   u p.     ( Just   b e   s ure   t o   p rint   e nough   c ards   f or   e veryone.)    
• After   a   m inute   o r   t wo,   c heck   t he   s tudent(s)   w ork   a nd   c orrect  
if   n eeded.     I f   d esired,   y ou   c an   m ake   i t   a   c ompetition   b y  
awarding   p oints   f or   c orrect   a nswers   o r   f or   t he   f astest  
correct   a nswer.     C ontinue   g ameplay   a s   l ong   a s   d esired.     I f
