[SAMPLE DONATION REQUEST LETTER]

Dear Family and Friends,

As you may already know, I am a proud member of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity, an international women’s

organization with more than 160,000 initiated sisters. An important part of our Alpha Gam sisterhood is helping

others. Diabetes, our chosen philanthropic focus, continues to affect our members and their friends, families and

acquaintances at an astounding rate; and, as a sisterhood, we have joined together in a revitalized effort to “Defeat

Diabetes One Step at a Time.”

On the morning of April 21, I will join my Alpha Gamma Delta sisters in an effort to do just that. As an attendee

at the Fraternity’s International Reunion Day, I will be participating in the Alpha Gam Diabetes 5K Walk. This

event will not only prove our commitment to decreasing the occurrence of this shockingly prevalent disease, but

will also benefit a truly worthy cause: the American Diabetes Association and the Alpha Gamma Delta

Foundation.

I have challenged myself to raise at least $50 in contributions, and I need help to accomplish my goal. If you

choose to support this effort, donations of cash or checks (made out to “Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity”) would

be appreciated. I truly appreciate your consideration of this request and hope that you can respond generously.
