CSS Noncustodial Parent
Waiver Request
2016-2017
Wheaton requires financial information from both biological and adoptive parent(s) in order to determine eligibility
for need-based institutional aid. In the situation where it is impossible to obtain information from a noncustodial
parent, a waiver maybe requested. Please note that a noncustodial parent’s unwillingness to provide his/her financial
information is not sufficient reason for a waiver of the noncustodial parent’s information.
In addition to completing the Waiver Request Form, the student must also provide third party documentation in
order for the waiver to be considered. Third party documentation cannot be provided by a friend or family member.
A letter should be written by a clergy member, social worker, school guidance counselor, etc., someone who has
person knowledge of the family’s situation and can verify their circumstances. The letter should indicate how long
the professional has known the family and their relationship to the family. It should be written on letterhead and ink
signed.
