Equipment loan of various cameras and accessories are available to design students at York and Sheridan free
of charge for specific course work. By signing this agreement students enter into a contract with the department
and consent to the conditions listed below.
Only registered students in YSDN/MDes may borrow equipment and the equipment is not transferrable from one
student to another. Whoever borrows the equipment is solely responsible for its care and return time.
Sign outs and bookings are arranged and approved by the Monitor on duty and/or design faculty.
Students are responsible for inspecting the equipment to determine that it is in proper working condition
and all components (cables, adapters, batteries, manuals, etc) are included prior to leaving with the
equipment.
Equipment can be borrowed for maximum of 2 days and is always due back during posted hours on the
due date specified. Late return of equipment will result in fines at the rate of $10.00/day until returned, and
continued disregard to policy will result in the loss of equipment borrowing privileges.
If equipment is not returned or fines remain unpaid by the end of the semester, a notation of debt will be
placed on the student’s academic record, which will result in hold-back of graduating documents until the
debt is cleared.
Students are responsible for taking proper care of the equipment while it is in their possession and are
responsible for any damage or loss of the equipment. The cost of repair or replacement will be calculated
at current market cost. Any problems, defects, or damage must be reported directly to the technician.
