Dear Parent/Guardians,
Each week our class will have a "star of the week". Please see the attached
schedule for your child’s Star Week. Your child will receive a blank board
on Monday to work throughout the week. He/she will return the decorated
board on the following Monday. Below I have listed the schedule for your
child’s week.
MONDAY
Bulletin Board - This is a blank bulletin board that you can choose to
decorate how you wish. Your child should include pictures (including
baby pictures). Feel free to decorate as much or as little as you would
like. You can add sayings or other favorite things to this board as well.
Please be sure to add items from your culture/ancestry as well!
TUESDAY
Book - bring in one of his or her favorite books to share with the class. Their
book will be read at Story time!
WEDNESDAY
Estimation Jar - The jar is to be filled with whatever you and your child
decide. The children will try to estimate how many objects are in the jar
before we count the actual number. We will count them together. You can
put anything in the jar and it does not have to be filled to the top. Food is
always popular but some other ideas might be cotton balls, erasers,
legos, trinkets, etc. Feel free to give items out to classmates!
THURSDAY
Parent letter - Parents will write a letter to the class telling us how
special their child is to them. Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school
with your child and I will read the letter to the class during Story Time. The
content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to choose from the
following ideas; Describe special or funny stories about your child for the
class to hear, tell us something neat we may not know about your child,
send silly or special pictures with a letter describing the pictures. You may
also send a video for the class to watch if you choose.
FRIDAY
Sharing - Your child may bring in a special item to share, including a favorite
toy, book, a pet, or even a family member! If your child would like to bring
in a treat for classmates, please send enough for 32 students. Please, no
nut products and provide a gluten-free option.
Have fun,
Mrs. Rinaldo “Mrs. R.”
