The purpose of developing a technique chart is so the students can use it and refine the chart as needed. This is

done while taking radiographs on clinical patients or in the lab, noting the necessary changes, and then changing

the chart accordingly over time until it has been perfected. Or at least very able to produce consistently high

quality radiographs with very rare need for repeats due to technique selection.

1) Student will keep track of techniques for each type of projection/ exam.

2) Students are not permitted to obtain a competency unless they have three techniques documented for each

projection in the exam.

3) Clinical educators and El Camino faculty will periodically check for accuracy. Clinical educators will initial

to verify the technique chart was filled in before collecting competencies.

4) This assignment is worth 50 points toward student's clinical grade.
