Introduction
The second year of the Emerging Leaders Program is intended to promote learning in four areas: relationship
building, communication skills, ethical practices, and team development. Please answer these questions (on a
separate sheet of paper(s) and typed) regarding those topics, and comment on your leadership experiences this
semester:
What are my strengths and weaknesses as a communicator? How do I effectively utilize them?
How do I adjust my communication to deal with particular situations?
What is an ethical dilemma that I have faced this semester, and how did I respond to that dilemma? Did the
actions of my response align with my ethical values?
How have I seen one of the leadership concepts that I have learned this semester manifest itself within one of my
experience? (Please name and accurately describe the concept)
How do I work to gain understanding from and build relationships with people that are different from me?
How have I been able to utilize the Leadership Practices Inventory in team development?

Are my values as a leader in line or out of line with those of the organization with which I am working?
What skills are needed by the organization in order to achieve its goals?
How have I applied my knowledge of communication and leadership to work in my organizations?

Community Service
