body # 2: main idea (source, quotation?)
body # 3: main idea (personal “I” story)
conclusion: restate thesis, “Big Bang” ending or a new story or small fact, proverb, wise saying
Recipe for a 36 score on the ACT essay includes all of these ingredients:
has a clearly-stated position on the issue, easily found in thesis with the word ‘because’
addresses all 3 perspectives
has a length of 3 + pages. Yes, 3 pages minimum, getting onto the 4th page is even better
skips lines between paragraphs and indents(makes essay easier to read)
has some flashy vocab that you’re sure you are using properly
and should include 3 or more of these:
a personal story using “I”
is there a rhetorical question?
a relevant study or news item
a proverb or wise saying
something relevant you have learned in school
a direct quote
