Letter of Intent to Establish Oklahoma Residence
Section 702 of the Veterans’ Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014 requires
colleges/universities to classify eligible students using Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill or Chapter 33 Post
9/11 GI Bill as in‐state for tuition purposes. This bill is effective July 1, 2015 and requires students to
submit a letter of intent to establish Oklahoma residence along with residing in the state of Oklahoma
while enrolling in the institution. This statement may serve as the letter of intent when completed and
returned to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.
My signature below indicates that I intend to make Oklahoma my state of residence. Attached is a
Certificate of Eligibility with entitlement for one of the bills below:
Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill (Active Duty),
Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill (Veteran),
Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill (Dependent – “Transfer of Entitlement”).
I confirm I am pursuing a course of education with educational assistance under Chapters 30 or 33.

Individuals who meet the requirements will maintain in‐state status as long as they remain
continuously enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, even if the term of benefits expire or
educational assistance is exhausted under Chapter 30 or 33.
