Packing List – Dominican Republic
Students International seeks to honor the communities in which we work in our conduct which includes the way we dress. This is why we
our
ask for your unwavering compliance in the dress code. The dress code is in effect at all times – at the base, ministry site, free time and
excursion.

3 pair of pants, jeans or Capri

Bed sheets & pillow case for twin bed
Host Family gift (one gift per every 4 team members)
Spending money (we suggest $50—$100)
Luggage Guidelines Due to limited housing space and transportation logistics only bring one check-in bag and one carry-on of personal
belongings per person. A second check-on bag is permitted for donations or team supplies. If the team is bringing quite a few extra bags let
us know so we can plan transportation. We strongly recommend packing passports, money, personal toiletries, and a change of clothes in
your carry-on bag.
What Not to Pack low cut jeans — shirts exposing the midriff — pants with holes — tank tops or spaghetti straps (sleeveless tops are ok,
shoulders must be covered) — low cut necklines — tight fitting clothing — Lycra shorts or yoga pants — short skirts or dresses (they must be
knee length or longer and worn with a slip). Shorts need to be knee length, this includes the sports sites. Pajamas are not appropriate outside
dorm/host family.
Piercings No piercing other than earrings on women. Facial jewelry such as nose rings, eyebrow rings, etc., is not appropriate.
Do not Bring iPods, MP3 players, blow dryers or other hair appliances, jewelry, unnecessary credit cards, cash, or important documents. Due
to the cost of electricity we ask that you not bring blow dryers or other hair appliances.
