APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOR
AETC/AFRC INSTRUCTOR PILOT PROGRAM
Note: Include the original application plus one copy for each location you are applying.
The application package should include the following:
• Cover Letter outling
• Desired position – Active Guard and Reserve (AGR – Full time) or Traditional Reserve
(TR – Part time)
• Aircraft (If more than one, list in order of preference)
• Base Preference (If more than one, list in order of preference)
• When you are available to attend PIT or start program, if PIT is not required
• When you are available to attend TX-I (F-16)
• Reserve Pilot Instructor Application Form
• Resume covering
• Military flying experience (civilian experience optional)
• Flying hour break down by aircraft
• Date of last military flight if not currently on military flying status
• Current military status, i.e., Active Duty, Reserve, Guard, Civilian
• Personal email address
• Letter of Recommendation
• From current commander, agency of assignment or last flying assignment
• Copies of last five Officer Performance Reports (OPRs)
• Officer Brief or current records review RIP or equivalent
• If discharged – submit DD Form 214
• If inter service transfer – submit Personnel RIP from parent service detailing service
history
• Flying History Report and Individual Data Summary
(Both available from your unit flight records office)
• Statement of Understanding
• AF Form 1288, Application for Ready Reserve Assignment
• AF Form 942, Record of Evaluation
• AF Form 125, Application for Extended Active Duty with the USAF
• Required only if applying for AGR position
