The Ancient Egyptians
believed that the
afterlife was just like
this life. They wanted
to take everything
they loved with them,
including their pets!
They mummified cats
and even little mice
for the cats to eat.
Cats were also
mummified as
offerings at the temple
of the goddess Bastet.
Instructions:
1. Print this page on
heavy paper.
2. Colour the cat face.
3. Cut out the mask
and the eyes.
4. Cut up pipe
cleaners and add
whiskers (optional).
5. Turn the mask over
and attach a
popsicle stick with
a piece of tape.
6. Hold the mask up
in front of your face!
