On Monday, March 5, 2012 we hope to participate in a statewide legislative event in efforts to better

educate our elected officials about the needs of teen parents and their children. This event includes teen

parent and legislative speakers and is followed by meetings between participating programs and their

legislators.

This unique event presents Massachusetts’ teen parents with an opportunity to take an active role in the

democratic process and advocate for themselves and their children. Participants in previous Lobby Day

events have told us how valuable they consider this rare opportunity for civic engagement:

1999 to nearly 700 participants in recent years.

Unfortunately, continued state budget cuts have eliminated the funds for many programs throughout the
