Discipline Plan

I Can Plan
In our discipline plan, we use a behavior management chart. It is a visual
reminder for the children to follow Greenwood procedures each day. Everyone is
placed on “green” to begin each day.
After three warnings for misbehavior, the child’s name is moved to the color
“yellow”. A child on yellow should think about why their color was changed and
the reason they were warned.
If a child continues to misbehave, his/her color will be changed to “orange”. A child
will discuss the behavior with the teacher.
If problems continue, the color is changed to “Red”. The color red is serious. A
discipline slip will be written by teacher/assistant and the Florence School District
One discipline guidelines will be enforced by school administrator.
Red
will also be used for other offences such as fighting, hurting others or other
blatant offence.
Color Orange- If student has 4
orange days
within one month a discipline slip will be
written to address behavior.
Each day your child will bring home a behavior chart. A
green
or fun sticker
indicates a good day. A yellow, orange, or red sticker will be given to indicate what
color your child was on at the end of the day. Parents need to initial the behavior
chart on correct date and return chart in the folder daily. Praise your child for good
behavior! At the end of the week, a Fun Friday treat is given for 5 green stickers.
Fun Friday treats might be candy, a pencil, or some form of praise for a job well
done!. Children on green for the entire month also receive an extra treat!
We have 5 basic rules in our classroom. Please review them with your child.
1. Follow Directions.
2. Listen Carefully.
3. Raise Your Hand.
4. Keep Hands, Feet, and Objects to Yourself.
5. Work Quietly and Safely.
Thank you!
