GENERAL   D ESCRIPTION:  

The   S enior   P rograms   C oordinators   ( 2   p ositions)   a re   r esponsible   f or   t he   d evelopment   &   d elivery   o f   t he   L eadership   T raining  

(LT)   &   C ounsellor-­‐in-­‐Training   ( CIT)   p rograms,   i ncluding   a ll   p rogram   c ontent,   r elated   a ctivities   &   p rogram   p articipants.   T his  

position   i s   a lso   r esponsible   f or   a ll   e quipment,   s upplies   &   s ervices   n ecessary   f or   t he   o peration   o f   s aid   p rograms.   T his   p air  

must   p ossess   s trong   l eadership   s kills   &   b e   p assionate   a bout   w orking   w ith   a dolescents   ( aged   1 3-­‐16   y ears).   T his   p osition  

requires   a daptability   &   a n   i nterest   i n   s upporting   t he   S enior   S taff   i n   i ncorporating   m ore   o f   t he   S couting   P rinciples   a nd  

Canadian   P ath   i nto   t he   S ummer   C amp   P rogram.  

 

DUTIES   &   R ESPONSIBILITIES:  

1.

Responsible   f or   c oordinating   a ll   a spects   o f   t he   L T   &   C IT   p rograms   i ncluding   a ctivities   &   m aterials.  

2.

Responsible   f or   a ll   e quipment   u sed   f or   a ssigned   p rograms.  

3.

Assist   i n   h andling   d isciplinary   c oncerns   i nvolving   S enior   P rogram   p articipants.  

4.

Write   f inal   e valuations   f or   p rogram   p articipants   i n   t he   C IT   p rogram.  

5.

Submit   a ny   s upply   r equests   t o   S ummer   P rogram   D irector.  

6.

Provide   r eports   t o   t he   S ummer   P rogram   D irector   a t   w eekly   S enior   S taff   m eetings.  

7.

Assist   i n   t he   s et-­‐up   a nd   t ake   d own   o f   c amp   a nd   w eekly   t urnover   t o   w eekend   u ser   g roups.  

8.

Monday   t o   F riday   o vernight   r esidence   a t   C amp   r equired   f or   C IT   p eriods   ( 1   n ight   o ff)   a nd   o n   T hursdays   f or   L T  

periods.      

9.

Other   r elated   d uties   a s   r equired.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

1.

Minimum   o f   1 8   y ears   o f   a ge,   2 1   y ears   o f   a ge   p referred.  

2.

Experienced   ( a   m inimum   o f   o ne   s eason)   i n   p rogram   p lanning   a nd   s taff   s upervision   i n   a   c amp   s etting.  

3.

Current   S tandard   F irst   A id/CPR   ( Level   C ).  

4.

Embodies   p ersonal   b eliefs   i n   k eeping   w ith   t he   M ission,   P rinciples   a nd   P ractices   o f   S couts   C anada.  

5.

Demonstrated   a ppropriate   a ttitude,   s kills   a nd   k nowledge   f or   t he   p osition.  

6.

Proven   l eadership,   c ustomer   s ervice   a nd   c onflict   r esolution   s kills.  

7.

Strong   c ommunication   a nd   h uman   r elations   s kills.  

8.

Completes   S couts   C anada   s creening   p rocess   i ncluding   a   c lear   P olice   R ecords   C heck,   w ith   V ulnerable   S ector   C heck.  

9.

Is   p repared   t o   c omplete   a ll   n ecessary   t raining,   i ncluding   a dditional   P re-­‐Camp   T raining   i f   d eemed   n ecessary.  

10. Willing   t o   w ork   n on-­‐traditional   h ours.
