First-time PLUS Loan borrowers must complete a Federal Direct PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (PMPN)

and Graduate PLUS Loan Entrance Interview/Counseling which can be found online at

If you have an existing PMPN on file with the Department of Education, it is still valid.

• Graduate students must be enrolled at least half-time (3 credits) each semester to be eligible for federal

loans.

• You must borrow the maximum Stafford Loan before you can apply for a Graduate PLUS Loan.

• You may borrow up to the full cost of attendance minus any other aid awarded for the loan period.

• A credit check is required for each year that a PLUS loan is requested.

• The Office of Student Financial Assistance must approve actual loan eligibility.

• An origination fee of up to 4.288% will be deducted from your requested loan amount.

Loans will not be disbursed until after the add/drop period and your enrollment is verified.
