NOTICE TO COMPLAINANT

COURTESY PERMITS FOR FAILURE-TO-

DELIVER-TITLE CASES

The Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division will extend to you the privilege of

using courtesy temporary permits during the active investigation of your

failure to deliver title complaint. You are not obligated to use these permits

and you have the option of parking your vehicle until title is delivered, or

seeking operating authority through the courts if you wish to do so. How-

ever, you need to be aware of the following:

The permits are a TEMPORARY remedy to allow you use of your

vehicle during the outcome of the investigation.

Courtesy permits are extended to you as a privilege; you are not

obligated to accept them and the department is not obligated to

supply them.

Many failure to deliver title cases reach a point where MVED has

done all it can do to resolve your problem yet title and registration

still have not been delivered. The department has no authority to

still have not been delivered. The depar tment has no authority to

demand titles and cannot continue to supply you with permits in-

definitely; your only remedy in these cases is through the courts.

IF YOUR CASE REACHES THIS POINT, COURTESY PERMITS

WILL NO LONGER BE ISSUED TO YOU.

Acknowledgment:

By signing below, I hereby acknowledge reading and understanding the

above notice and agree to accept courtesy permits from the Motor Vehicle

Enforcement Division only until active investigation of my case is completed.

I understand that while MVED may assist in the delivery of my title they

have no authority to demand titles and that I may need to seek relief through

the courts.
