and Code of Ethics and Conduct Policy
Board members, committee members, volunteers and staff have an ethical and legal obligation to respect the
privacy of our clients, to protect and maintain the confidentiality of client information and to adhere to the Code of
Ethics and Conduct.
Board members, committee members, volunteers and staff also have an obligation to disclose any possible
Conflicts of Interest so that it can be recognized and disclosed, and then properly managed. A Conflict of Interest
can arise from many ordinary and appropriate activities; the existence of a Conflict does not imply wrongdoing on
anyone’s part. Some relationships may create the appearance of Conflict; those too are important to eliminate or
manage in order to maintain public confidence in the integrity of our activities.

Areas In Which Conflict May Arise
Conflicts of Interest may arise in the relations of Employees and Volunteers (or an Immediate Family Member or
other Interested Persons) with any of the following third parties:
• Persons and firms supplying goods and services to CFGRB.
• Persons and firms from whom CFGRB leases property and equipment.
• Persons and firms with whom CFGRB is dealing or planning to deal in connection with the gift,
purchase or sale of real estate, securities or other property.
• Competing or affinity organizations.
• Donors and others supporting CFGRB.
• Agencies, organizations and associations that affect the operations of CFGRB (including those
that are or may become grantseekers).
• Family members, friends and other employees.
Nature Of Conflicting Interest
A material Conflicting Interest may be defined as an interest, direct or indirect, with any persons and firms
mentioned above. Such an interest might arise through:
• Owning stock or holding debt or other proprietary interests in any third party dealing with
CFGRB.
• Holding office, serving on the board, participating in management, or being otherwise employed
(or formerly employed) in any third party dealing with CFGRB.
• Receiving remuneration for services with respect to individual transactions involving CFGRB.
• Using CFGRB’s time, personnel, equipment, supplies, or good will for other than CFGRB
approved activities, programs and purposes.
• Receiving personal gifts or loans from third parties dealing with CFGRB. Receipt of any gift is
disapproved except gifts of nominal value that could not be refused without discourtesy. No
personal gift or money should ever be accepted.
