hard or soft cover in a standard edition in 2010. Translations are ineligible, as are chapbooks. A $500 cash prize goes to the author.
The PSA will purchase the winning book at a 50% trade discount off the retail price, to be made available to our membership. The
publisher also agrees to attach a PSA sticker to the jacket front calling attention to the Norma Farber First Book Award.

for a book of poetry written by a single author who is a permanent resident of the

United States. The book must be published by a small press, non-profit, or university press in a standard edition in 2010.
Translations are ineligible, as are chapbooks. The Poetry Society of America will purchase copies of the winning book at a 50% trade
discount off the retail price to a total between $500 and $1,000. These copies will be made available to PSA members. The publisher
of the winning book agrees to attach a sticker to the jacket front calling attention to the William Carlos Williams Award.
The following rules apply to both book awards:

Publishers may not submit the same title to both contests.
♦
Publishers may submit any number of titles to each contest.
♦
Publishers must submit two copies of each title.
♦
Submissions must be sent first class and be postmarked between October 1, 2010 and December 22, 2010.
♦
Winners are formally announced at the PSA’s Annual Awards Ceremony in 2011.
♦
Entry fee is $20 per title submitted.
♦
Self-published books are ineligible.
♦
No books will be returned.
♦
