SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

WORK AGREEMENT

THE HOST AGENCY AGREES TO:

Provide safe and sanitary working conditions, a drug-free workplace, and abide by the SCSEP

restrictions regarding political activity.

Assure that participants are only in addition to budgeted employment, which otherwise would be

funded by the host agency without OAA assistant and will result in an increase in employment

opportunities in addition to those which would otherwise be available.

Provide the participant with an orientation to the workplace, an accurate job description, and a copy of

agency personnel policies and officer procedures.

Provide supervision and training that will allow the participant to acquire or broaden job skills.

Assure that participants do not work more than the number of hours authorized on the notification of

grant award.

Keep monthly participant timesheets.

Allow the participant paid time off for participation in training programs and SCSEP meetings that will

enhance the worker’s employability.

Conduct biannual participant progress reports (evaluations) and submit to ACoA in April and October.

Assure that participants are not discriminated against based on race, color, religion, sex, national

origin, handicap, political affiliation, or age (except according to SCSEP program requirements).

Notify participants in advance and give participants fair consideration when unsubsidized employment

opportunities arise within the agency.

Communicate with the ACoA regarding any needs or problems that may occur.

12.

The Fair Labor Standard Act prohibits participants from volunteering for work of the same nature as

their job.

THE PARTICIPANT AGREES TO:

Perform the duties of the SCSEP position as described in the job description to the best of his/her

ability.

Accept $ ________per hour, knowing that the wage will not be raised during the time of the SCSEP

work experience.

Participate in training for this job to become qualified for unsubsidized employment.
