Dear Parent/Guardian:
Your student will have the opportunity to publish documents and participate in projects on the World Wide
Web as part of the schoolʼs educational program. These projects might include a personal home page, a
story or poem, a graphic, a science or research project, a group photograph from an activity or club, or a
project in collaboration with local or international students. Your student may also have the opportunity
participate in a live videoconference with another school or an organization such as NASA or The Seward
Sea life Center. Additionally, a teacher may publish classroom work with photographs of students
involved in these activities

Schoolʼs believes that this is an exciting and enriching opportunity for our students that will help prepare

teacher. To see examples of work that is already published on the World Wide Web, please contact your
studentʼs teacher or the District Technology Department.

Participation Guidelines
Published documents may not include a student's phone number, street or mailing address, or last
names of family members.
Published documents may not include any information that indicates the physical location of a
student at a given time other than attendance at a particular school or participation in school
activities.
Published documents may not contain inappropriate material or point directly or indirectly to
inappropriate material.
Published documents must conform to school board policies and established school guidelines.
A teacher shall edit and approve all documents prior to publication on the World Wide Web.
