The Board of Equalization (BOE) has the authority to prescribe electronic filing (e-filing) as a method to file returns. We may
grant a one year exemption from e-filing if it is determined that it causes an undue hardship. If an exemption is granted, you
will continue to receive paper returns for one year. * You will be notified in writing if your request is denied.
All exemption requests must be received by us at least 45 days prior to the end of your reporting period to be mailed a printed
paper return. It is your responsibility to file timely even if you do not receive a return or form.
