BSA TROOP 4 POLICY ON CONDUCT
It is the policy of Troop 4 and of the Boy Scouts of America that all scouting activities be conducted in a safe and
wholesome environment It is the expectation of the troop committee that all activities will take place in the spirit of the
Scout Oath and the Scout Law. However, it is recognized that there will be times when exceptions to this proper behavior
will occur.
Therefore, the consequences of misbehavior and nonobservance of the rules must be clearly communicated to all
scouts, parents and adult leaders. To this end, the Committee hereby establishes the following Rules of Conduct that
are to be observed by all scouts and adult leaders. The following are actions, which are specifically prohibited within
Troop 4:
• Horseplay, hazing, inappropriate language and/or verbal abuse.
• Unsafe use of fire or pyrotechnics.
• Rock throwing that might injure.
• Excessive boisterousness which disturbs the enjoyment of the outdoors by others.
• Possession. Transportation or consumption of alcohol at any function involving scouts.
• The possession or use of illegal drugs.
• Assault, or the threat of force or violence directed toward any scouts or adult leader.
• Stealing or destruction of property.
• Open and persistent defiance of authority.
CONSEQUENCE OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR
Disregard for these rules or other misbehavior may result in one or more of the following consequences:
1. Verbal waning.
2. "Time out” from activities.
3. A telephone call home to parents.
4. Parents asked to pick-up the scout from the camp outing (AT PARENTS' EXPENSE).

WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMER FORM
I I We the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of the named Scout acknowledge that participation in scouting events necessarily
involves risk of physical injury. I I We further acknowledge that the program of TROOP 4 is administered by volunteers,
including volunteering parents, and not by paid professionals.
In consideration for accepting the registration of the above-named Scout and permitting voluntary participation of the
Scout in its programs, I I We hereby release, discharge and hold harmless TROOP 4, its leaders and participating
volunteers from any claims arising out of or relating to any physical injury that may result to the participant while
participating in TROOP 4 sponsored events, including any physical injury caused by the negligence of any leader or
participating volunteer while participating in any TROOP 4 sponsored event.
PARENT CONSENT
I I We authorize the ADULT LEADER(S) IN CHARGE, into whose care the named minor had been entrusted, to consent
to medical, surgical, or hospital care, treatment, or diagnosis for the minor under Section 6910 of the California Family
Code.
The authority granted by this authorization includes the authority to consent to any medical, dental, surgical, or hospital
diagnosis, treatment or care to be rendered to or for the named minor under general or special supervision of a qualified
physician, surgeon, or dentist.
I I We further authorize the ADULT LEADER(S) IN CHARGE to receive physical custody of the named minor under
Section 1283(a) of the California Health and Safety Code upon completion of any treatment, and I I We instruct any
treating health facility to surrender the physical custody of the referenced minor to the ADULT LEADER(S) IN CHARGE.
This authorization shall remain in effect unless and until revoked by a signed writing delivered to
TROOP 4, SAN GABRIEL VALLEY COUNCIL, BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA.
