What is it?

The First Year Camper program is designed for boys who have not yet reached First Class

rank. Requirements for the rank of Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class will be

taught.

Among the areas of emphasis during the week are: first aid, knots, lashing, knife and axe

use, cooking and swimming, patrol methods, and wilderness skills.

All parents or guardians are welcome to attend with their Scouts, but are not required to

attend. Appropriate adult leadership will be provided. At least two adults will stay in each

campsite with the boys throughout the week.

At the end of the session each Scout will be given a sheet showing which rank requirements

were completed. The Scout will present the sheet to his Scoutmaster for final approval.

Scouts can arrive at camp after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening (7/5). Camp starts on

Wednesday morning (7/6) at 9:00 a.m., and will run through lunch on Saturday (7/9).

Cost?

The cost to attend First Year Camper program is $85 per boy if paid by June 30. The fee

increases to $100 on July 1.

Refunds?

Refunds are available if requested at least one week prior to the event.

What is Needed?

Personal items (clothes, swim trunks, toiletries, etc.), tent, sleeping bag, non-breakable cup

and water bottle, folding pocket knife (no fixed blade knifes allowed), compass, and a

personal first aid kit.
