5. GPA –Students at the University are required to meet minimum a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a 2.0. For purposes
of determining satisfactory academic progress, summer will be combined as one semester.
ACADEMIC PROBATION – A letter is sent to VA if you are on Academic Probation.
ACADEMIC SUSPENSION – A student placed on “academic suspension” will be suspended for one semester.
ACADEMIC DISMISSAL – is for one calendar year (12 months)._____Initials
6. Grades – End of Term grades – Dates are entered with failing grades from instructor to include if student stops attending a
class or stops turning in work for a distance learning course. This will cause reduction in your courses and overpayment
which you may be responsible for payment. VA will not pay for unsatisfactory attendance, conduct or progress. _____Initials
7. EH 101 & EH 102 – Grades are given A, B, C, or NC – VA will not pay for “NC” grade in a course or courses that lead toward a
degree. This will cause reduction in courses and overpayment which you may be responsible for payment. _____Initials
8. Substituted courses & required/prerequisite courses. This must be verified by Academic Advisor’s signature on schedule.
Remedial classes are only taken by placement test or ACT scores. _____Initials
9. NO repeats on a passing grade (transfer or JSU work.)_____Initials
10. Incomplete grade – You have up to the next semester or one year to change “I” grade to a letter grade or it turns to “F”. You
cannot register for the course again while “I” is showing and receive VA.
11. If you make any changes after you turned in application for benefits, you must come by the VA Office and fill out the
necessary documents: change of major (VA Form 22-1995/veterans or VA Form 22-5495/dependents), change of address
(VA Form 20-572), drop/add course, withdrawal. _____Initials
