1) Guitar chords. In this exercise you will learn about guitar chords. The standard tuning
scheme for a six string guitar is E2-A2-D3-G3-B3-E4.
In western music, chords--
combinations of notes-- are often made using the triad. A triad is a set of three notes: tonic,
the pitch a third higher than the tonic, and the pitch a fifth higher than the tonic.
Recall that a third consists of 4 semitones, and a fifth consists of 7 semitones. A keyboard is
shown below to help you determine the notes of the chord if you need it.
Using the example in the table as a guide, construct the chords for the guitar in the table
below.

Find the lowest string that allows you
