Treatment algorithm: based on WHO guidelines

Non-Pharmacological = distraction, positioning, heat, cold, skin to skin, kangaroo care, relaxation, therapeutic play, massage/touch

Non-Opioid = Acetaminophen, NSAIDS such as Ketorolac and Ibuprofen (unless contraindicated)

Mild Pain = Pain Score 1 – 3

Moderate Pain = Pain Score 4 – 6

Severe Pain = Pain Score 7 - 10

Non Pharmacological

Lower Dose Opioid + / - Non Pharmacological

Higher Dose Opioid + / - Non Pharmacological
