Withholding Guide

Issued under the Michigan Uniform City Income Tax Ordinance.

Your Filing Requirements Have Changed

The City of Albion will collect Albion withholding taxes beginning with the 2001

tax year.

• Payments are now due on or before the last day of the first month following

the close of the reporting period. For example, a monthly filer's payment for

amounts withheld during February 2002 is due on or before March 31, 2002.

• Employers must pay their withholding tax using Electronic Funds Transfer

(EFT).

Businesses benefit from the EFT program because there are no monthly or

quarterly tax forms to prepare, no check to write, no postage costs and no

worry about untimely postal delivery. The entire transaction is done in a safe

and secure manner over the telephone in conjunction with your financial

institution and Albion's financial institution.
