Donor Match Blood Type Game: “Are You My Type?”
READ ME FIRST
Complete the chart on the back of this page by placing an X where there is a
compatible blood match between recipient (left) and donor (top). AB+ is filled out
for you. You cannot play the game until you show me your completed chart. Also,
this assignment is due the next day we have class, and is worth 10 points.
Visit the following website:
Directions:
In this game you will play “matchmaker,” selecting the right blood type from a
group of donors to give to a recipient. In the first round you will have to make 4
correct matches. In the second, you must make 5; in the third, 6; all the way up to
8.
Point Values and Time Limit:
Each match is worth 10x[round number]. So, in the first round, each correct
match in the time limit is worth 10 points. In the second round, each match is
worth 20 points, and so on. You will also have less and less time to match.
Important Note:
There will not always be a match among the donors. If this happens, the best you
do is select one to “waste.” Choose wisely! Since O+ can be given to almost
anyone, you might want to pick something else. AB+ can only be given to AB+
recipients, so it might be a good choice to “waste.”
High Scores:
See if you can top my 2014 high score of 10250 (I lost in Round 13 – they only
give you 5 seconds for a match then!).
Completing This Assignment:
Once you have played the game enough, answer the questions on the back.
My Advice:
The game is kinda addicting. What I would do is complete the questions first, then
go nuts trying to break my record. Otherwise, you’ll just have homework.
