o = open hit hat (just open enough to sizzle – fairly tight)
( ) = ghosted or omitted note
top space = hi hat
second space = snare
bottom space = bass drum
On steel band calypsos, use alternating RL on hi hat and displace
to snare drum when needed (such as on "Other variations")
On socas, right hand is dedicated to hi hat, left hand remains on snare.
Generally even eighth notes, but at slower tempos, calypso can
swing a little bit.
