Measure loosely
If in doubt, go by girth measurement
Circle or clearly mark your child's measured size on all charts
Ballet Arts Studio CANNOT measure children or guess sizes
CHART A
Measure students in their leotards, not street clothes:
BUST/CHEST (A) - measure around the fullest part.
WAIST (B) - bend to one side to determine the
natural crease of your waist. Then standing straight,
make sure the tape fits comfortably at your waist.
HIPS (C) - measure around the fullest part, making
sure the tape is parallel to the floor.
GIRTH (D) - place the tape measure on the top
of the right shoulder, run it across the bust and
through the legs, up the back to the top of the
left shoulder.
(A) bust
Measure She bust
around the fullest part,
and keep your tape
close under the arms
and across, not under,
the shoulder blades.
(B) waist
Measure at the the
narrowest point.
(C) hips
Stand straight with
your heels together
and keep the tape
parallel to the floor as
you measure around
the fullest part.
(D) girth
Measure from
center of right
shoulder through
crotch and up to the
center of the
left shoulder. V
Compare the measurements to the appropriate size chart. Girth is the
most important measurement in determining proper fit.
