Check-In / Playtime.
One teacher take control of sign-in:
One tag will go on the child, another will go on the clipboard, and one will be used for checkout. Just place the
Pick Up sticker on the clipboard to check the child out.
If someone is new to the church or not in our database they can fill out a guest tag. Please make sure that you get
their phone number in case we need to contact them and any special instructions for the care of their child.

Coloring Sheet / Snack / Intro Activity
COLORING SHEET:
Have the kids color the sheet and ask them questions about the sheet.
SNACK: Animal Crackers & Water
Give each child animal crackers in a cup & water in a cup with a lid.
Pray over them a simple prayer.
INTRO ACTIVITY: “Build a City”
Lead preschoolers to use blocks to build a city. Invite them to identify the different buildings such as a school,
stores, restaurants, homes, office buildings, and so forth. As preschoolers build, encourage them to imagine the
people who would live in their city.
Say:
God told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh and tell them to stop sinning. Jonah did not want to go. The
Ninevites were his enemies. God showed mercy to the Ninevites. God made and loves all people!

Story and Craft
STORY:
Have the children transition to the Jesus rug for story time.
Read the Bible Story provided in the teacher aid bin.
Say:
God showed mercy to the Ninevites. The people of Nineveh did not deserve God’s mercy, but God created the
Ninevites, and He cared about them. God decided not to destroy them when they showed they were sorry for their sin.
God made and loves all people!
Craft: Jonah and the whale
Items needed: printout of Jonah and the whale, crayons, piece of fabric, stapler
Instructions: (1) Give each child a printout of Jonah and the whale and have them color it. (2) Give each
child a piece of square fabric. Help the child by stapling the piece of fabric over Jonah.
Say:
God told Jonah to go tell his enemies to stop sinning. Jonah did not want to go. After being swallowed
by a fish, Jonah obeyed God. The Ninevites showed God they were sorry, and God showed mercy to the
Ninevites. God made and loves all people!
