Gitxsan Health Society is seeking an individual who has good interpersonal skills and enthusiasm to work

with Children in the Children's Oral Health Initiative Program. The successful applicant will have a good

work ethic, be self-motivated from good role models, emotionally mature, cooperative, and open

minded.

Status: Casual Dental Assistant/COHI Aide

Hours of Work: Casual Employee status (placed on a list called in as needed as per HEU Collective

Agreement)

Rate of Pay: As per HEU Collective Agreement

Job Summary: Under the general supervision of a Dental Therapist, performs a range of duties relating

to assisting during dental treatments and general oral hygiene practices.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience: Grade 12 or equivalent, plus one year's recent relevant

experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Demonstrated Skills and Abilities:



Must role model a healthy lifestyle



Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing



proven ability to work independently and cooperatively with other people and agencies



ability to operate related equipment



physical ability to carry out the duties of the position



Valid BC Driver's License and daily access to a vehicle is a requirement of this position



Criminal Record Review is a requirement of this position



Knowledge of Gitxsan Language, social systems, and community health issues an asset
