Letter to Family
Dear Family,
I would like you to do a counting activity with your child. Find an item in your
house or yard of which you have more than 20 but less than 100. For example,
you might find paper clips or flowers. Have your child draw a picture of the
number of items you found. Have your child group the items by tens in the
picture. For example, if you found 35 paper clips, your child could draw three
groups of 10 paperclips, circling each group, and five separate paper clips.
Write the name of the item and the number under the picture.
In class the children will compare pictures. They will order the numbers from
least to greatest.
Your child needs to bring this to school by ____________.

Thank you for your help.
