Letter to Family

Dear Family,

I would like you and your child to find a small box that you don’t need anymore.

Trace around one of the rectangular faces (sides) of the box on a plain piece of

paper using a pencil. Label the box and the piece of paper with the tracing on it

with your child’s name.

In class we will use the boxes and the tracings to help the children think

visually. The children will make predictions of which tracings came from which

boxes. After they have had a chance to predict, I’ll have a volunteer position the

box to show how it matches the tracing.
