Letter to Family
Dear Family,
I would like you to go outside or look out the window with your child. Count two
sets of objects you see that have fewer than 20. You might count the number of
birds outside and the number of trees in your yard. Then have your child draw
two pictures of what you saw. Help your child label each picture with the number
and the object, for example, 12 birds.
We are going to use these pictures in class to compare numbers. For example,
if you and your child saw 5 trees and 12 birds, I will ask your child to look at the
pictures and decide which number is greater.
Your child needs to bring this to school by

Thank you for your help.
