Dear Family,
I would like you to go outside or look out the window with your child. Count two
things that are less than 12. You might count the number of birds you see and
the number of trees in your yard. Then have your child draw two pictures of
what you saw. Help your child label the picture with the number and the object,
for example, five trees.
We are going to use these pictures to compare numbers. For example, if you
and your child saw five trees and nine birds, I will ask your child to look at the
pictures and decide which number is greater.
