Requirements for Dealers: AS Sec.28.39.020 (b) The department shall authorize agents, including snowmobile dealers, to register

snowmobiles. The department may authorize a snowmobile dealer authorized as an agent for snowmobile registration to issue temporary and

permanent registrations and to renew registrations. (c) Snowmobile dealer shall require a purchaser of a new or used snowmobile sold at retail

to complete a registration application and pay the registration fee before the snowmobile leaves the dealer’s premises unless the snowmobile

is exempt from registration or a registration fee under this chapter.

Termination of Ownership: AS Sec. 28.39.050 (b) This chapter does not require a snowmobile dealer to renew the registration of a used

snowmobile held solely for purposes of resale until the snowmobile is resold. An owner of a snowmobile registered under this chapter shall

notify the department in writing of the termination of use, destruction, or permanent removal of the snowmobile from the state within 15 days

after the termination of use, destruction, or removal.

Notice: This registration must be carried while operating the snowmobile or ATV at all times. Make certain that this registration agrees with

the decal number on the snowmobile or ATV. It is illegal to display incorrect decal numbers month/year tab on a snowmobile or ATV. Failure to

display the proper decal and month/year tab could result in a citation and/or impound of the snowmobile or ATV.

Renewal Information: You may renew by MAIL or over the INTERNET at Alaska.gov/dmv. Submit any change of mailing address

in writing to DMV, 1300 W. Benson Blvd. Ste. 200, Anchorage, AK 99503-3600. You will be notified by mail when your registration

is due to expire. Thank you.
