IMPORTANT PASSPORT AND VISA INFORMATION
FOR VISITING CHINA

s pleased to provide its travelers with information and forms to secure
the necessary travel documentation for entry into China.
A passport, valid for at least six months beyond the length of stay in China is required,
as well as a visa, which provides for entry and exit. China visas are pasted directly into
passports and at least one blank visa page is required (Note: the last three pages of
your passport will not be considered for visa placement).
If you need assistance in securing, renewing or updating your current passport, including
adding visa pages please contact GenVisa at 800-845-8968 (Monday – Friday 9:00 AM
– 5:30 PM ET) for requirements and fees.
Photographs should be passport type photos which are 2” x 2”, color on a clear
background, presenting a full frontal facial view and recent enough to represent a good
likeness of the passport holder.
The following information is meant to serve as guidelines in filling out the
enclosed visa application form (some fields have been prefilled on your behalf):
No. 1.1: Write your last name (surname), middle and first names, as they appear
in your passport.
No. 1.2: Your Chinese name in Chinese characters if born in China. If not applicable,
please write “N/A.
No. 1.3: Maiden name or other names you may have had or been known by in the past.
No. 1.8: If born in China please indicate city and province.
No. 1.9: Please provide your Driver License number or Citizenship number for a
naturalized citizen.
No. 1.13: Enter what is listed under Authority on the picture page of your passport.
No. 1.15: If you checked “Businessperson”, please specify occupation in other.
No. 1.17: If retired please indicate so in the name field, and answer N/A for mailing
address and phone number.
No. 1.23: In addition to the accompanying relative list at least one other family member.
No. 2.2: Do not change prefilled selection for visa category! US citizens automatically
get multiple entry, 10 years validity visas regardless of their travel needs.
No. 2.4: Approximate date of arrival is fine.
No. 2.5: Your total stay cannot exceed 30 days. If you are planning to stay longer than
30 days please contact GenVisa for additional information.
No. 2.6: If you are on a cruise please state “onboard a cruise ship” and provide the
name of the ship. For land tours and cruise extensions please list up to four major hotels
that you are staying at and their respective addresses in China (space permitting). For
complete hotel contact information please refer to the Viking Cruises Hotel information
list below. Please be aware that all hotels listed on 2.5 MUST match the hotels listed on
your invoice provide by Viking Cruises in lieu of required travel itinerary.
