read:
POULSBO, Wash. -- An Egyptian flag hangs above Mario Saad's desk,
with the inscription "I miss you a lot" penned in red ink.
"It sounds not safe, not a good time," said Mario, 15, who is part of an
11-month exchange program at the West Sound Academy. His family
lives in an area south of Cairo. The last he spoke with them was over
Skype on Monday, he said.
Not anymore.
"Everything that can connect you with them, it's not on," he said.
For now, Mario's main contact is with dozens of other Egyptian nationals,
other exchange students like him who find themselves unable to talk with
anyone back home.
Academy administrators say they are trying to help reach Mario's family
