Dear Sir/Madam:

This fall, I would like to apply to become a member of the Grant Professionals Certification

Institute (GPCI) Board of Directors. This national board, made up of certified grant

professionals and a public board member, sets policies related to the Grant Professional Certified

(GPC) exam, ensures conformity with the Institute for Credentialing Excellence National

Commission for Certifying Agencies standards, and advocates and educates grant professionals

and those who hire them about the GPC exam and GPCI’s standard of excellence.

Each term of office is three years and requires attendance at a two-hour monthly conference call

meeting and a yearly meeting at the Grant Professionals Association national conference.

Currently, this meeting is 12-2pm EST. This is a working board and service on one or more

committees will also be required.

I am very proud of earning my GPC and I feel it has brought additional knowledge and expertise

to our organization as I complete professional development each year and networked with other

grant professionals.

Networking with other GPCs is a great opportunity for me to engage with and learn from other

grant professionals who are at the top of the field. Fellow GPCs will be a great resource for me

when our organization wants to apply for new grant opportunities and other organizations in our

field and region can look to our agency to be a resource for them. Other nonprofits and nonprofit

professionals will see the value our organization places on professional development and service

– both nationally and locally.

I am certain being a member of this board will bring value to our organization as I learn and

serve and will help me not only increase the value I bring to our organization, but also assist me

to grow professionally.

I would appreciate your support as I look to serve the greater nonprofit community.
