Adding Fractions:

You need a common denominator (bottom number).

Think of a number that can be divided equally by both of the old denominators.
NOTE: If you can't think of one, you can always multiply the old denominators
to come up with a new "common" denominator.

Divide the old denominator into the new denominator, multiply your answer by
the old numerator.
Example:
2/4 = 6/12
+ 1/3 = 4/12
Mixed numbers are OK
Example:
4 1/3 + 16 1/2 =
4 2/6 + 16 3/6 = 20 5/6
