YMCA Massage Therapist
General Function: Provide massage therapy to members and community participants of the Oak Park YMCA.
Job Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Require to have a license or certification in massage therapy.
Must possess strong organizational skills, strong communication skills and is an energetic goal-orientated
person.
Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.
Position Responsibilities:
Manipulate the muscles or other soft tissues of the body where needed.
Talk with clients about symptoms, medical history, and desired results
Evaluate clients to locate painful or tense areas of the body.
Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation and how to improve their
posture.
Document client’s condition and progress.
Ability to work flexible hours as program needs arise. Ability to assist in various departments or programs as
the need arises.
Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered to.
Performs related duties as required.
Assist in the Annual Campaign as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit,
stand for an extended period of time, have finger dexterity, and communicate.
