SUGGESTED PACKING LIST FOR OVERNIGHT DEAF CAMP
Some Suggestions: LABEL EVERYTHING! We recommend iron-on or sewn-in labels for clothing and
permanent ink on adhesive tape for other items. Do not send expensive clothing or belongings. Only
3-5 week Staff will have access to laundry facilities.

Beach towel
Jacket (for cool evenings or mornings)
Closed toe running or hiking shoes ( Hiking, Games, and ATV/Dirtbikes)
Watershoes, crocs or sandals/flip flops to be worn at the waterfront
Rain gear for rainy days: raincoat, splash pants, rubber boots
Hat & Sunglasses are essential for sun protection
Sunscreen – choose one that is waterproof and SPF 30 or higher
Insect repellent – no aerosol please
Water bottle
Sleeping bag, twin-size fitted sheet & pillow
Flashlight
Personal hygiene items: toiletry bag or organizer, hairbrush/comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap,
shampoo & conditioner, washcloth, towel, deodorant, chapstick, feminine hygiene product
Laundry bag or old pillow case for dirty clothing. Please label this with your name!
Fancy Dinner Attire: Sundress, Dress Shirt, Skirt, Prom Dress ( This is just for fun!)
Journal/notebook, pen/pencil, books (for rest hour)
White cotton items so that the camper might tye-dye them (e.g. t-shirt, pillow case, socks)
Regular or emergency medication (medication will be left with nurse at camp, must be in original packaging!)
Optional: Camera, Goggles, Theme Day Items, Dry case for hearing aids/CIs, Extra Batteries for hearing tech.
Some Notes: Pack belongings in a duffel bag or old suitcase. Make sure all bags are clearly
marked with Campers'/Staff name. Please consider the "School Dress Code" for packing. No
inappropriate graphics on t-shirts, no belly crop tops, no short shorts, and a full piece/tankini
swimsuit for girls, and board shirts for guys. A rashguard is always great for protection from the
sun. Please leave cell phones, valuables and technology at home. There is no real need for money.
Staff can bring money for the Tuck Shop. Tuck Shop is included in the Camper Fee. No Drugs or
Alcohol or Cigarettes are permitted. No knives or weapons are permitted.
