PMHS Summer Packet 2014
For Incoming Pre-AP Geometry Students
This review packet consists of review problems you need to be able to solve. The answers will be
posted in early August. Details on how to access the answers will be sent through my Remind101, so
make sure you sign up! (see last page) The purpose of the answers is to help you know if you are doing
the problems correctly or not. You must show ALL of your work in this packet to receive ANY credit,
so just copying the answers down does you no good!
You will be expected to work the problems in class without the aid of a calculator or a formula chart,
so I suggest you practice them in the same manner. These problems show the level of problem solving
and algebra skills you are expected to have when we begin Pre-AP Geometry. This packet is due the
second day of class. You will have a TEST over this material the following week. You will NOT be
allowed to use a calculator or a formula chart on the test. It will include problems similar to, but not
exactly the same as, the problems included in this review. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW
ALL OF YOUR WORK IN EVERYTHING YOU DO!
If you have trouble solving any of these problems, you should plan to attend tutorials prior to the test.
My tutorial times for the new school year will be posted on my webpage the week before school starts.
We will NOT review or discuss these problems in class. Remember, this is a REVIEW! This IS stuff
that you HAVE been taught in the past and you ARE responsible for knowing the material and having
the skills to solve the problems! You can access the Algebra I and Geometry textbooks online at
for additional review; you can email me for the username and password.
There are many websites in addition to the textbook website that you may find helpful. Here are some
good ones:
Good luck and I look forward to meeting all of you!
Sincerely,
