Home Lesson Project Quarter 1
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This is our first quarter home learning project that you will be doing with your child. The first grade students have been practicing
representing numbers using tally marks. We have been creating tally charts in class to collect data. Our first quarter home learning project will
focus on creating your very own tally chart.
Standard 1: Numbers and Operations: Number Sense: Understand numbers, ways of representing numbers, relationships among numbers,
and number systems.
Benchmark 1.1.3: Represent whole numbers up to 100 in flexible ways (eg. Relating, composing, and decomposing numbers), including the
use of tens as a unit.
Standard 11: Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability: Fluency with data: Pose questions and collect, organize, and represent data to answer
those questions.
Benchmark 1.11.1: Collect and organize information using concrete objects and pictures.
