F.O.P. Tag Requirements
When applying for Maryland F.O.P. Tags Applications please adhere to the following requirements;
1.)You MUST be a member, in good standing, of the MARYLAND STATE LODGE.
2.)
ONLY the F.O.P. Member listed as the OWNER/CO-OWNER of the vehicle is eligible to receive
F.O.P. Plates in the following manner;
A)
ACTIVE and RETIRED ACTIVE Members receive the LOGO “FP” Plates.
B)
ACTIVE and RETIRED ACTIVE Members receive the LOGO Motorcycle Plates.
C)
Associate Members receive the NON-LOGO Plates (“FPA”). There are no Motorcycle
(F.O.P.) Plates for Associate Members.
3.)
The surviving spouse of an ACTIVE / RETIRED ACTIVE Member upon authorization by the deceased
member’s Local Lodge shall be eligible to receive LOGO plates in the same manner as the deceased
member. The surviving children are not eligible for F.O.P. Plates in this capacity.
4.)
When issuing an MVA “FP” tag application (VR-124) to an eligible member, the following information
should either be typed or legibly printed on the application, by the person issuing the application:
A) The member’s full name as it will appear on the title and registration card; first,
middle and last names.
B) The VIN or current title number of the vehicle to be registered.
AT NO TIME WILL A BLANK APPLICATION FORM BE GIVEN TO THE MEMBER.
5.)
No other classification of F.O.P. membership shall be eligible to obtain or display Maryland “FP” license
tags. (Honorary, Associate and Auxiliary classifications are specifically excluded from eligibility and
local lodges may not as a matter of “local” lodge policy, arbitrarily issue “FP” tag applications to those
membership classifications determined to be ineligible to display such tags.)
