“8. SECURITY DEPOSIT: Tenant has deposited…In the event Tenant cancels lease for the Premises or fails to check-into unit by assigned date, then
Tenant shall forfeit any security deposit.”
Students deciding not to attend the university after signing the lease will be charged $200.00 as a cancelation fee and/or forfeit the entire value of the
Security Deposit on file but, will be relieved of their contractual obligations if notification is received in writing on this form.
Resident students choosing to withdraw from Texas A&M International University after their agreement period begins will be responsible for completing
the Petition for Contract Release available in each housing office and following the procedures as indicated in that process. Including but not limited to:
paying the prorated cost of room rent based upon the date that they move out of campus housing (room is clean, keys are checked-in), paying of any
fees related to the request and paying of any other sum that is attributable to the resident’s occupancy. This amount may be billed to the student
account independent of any other university prorated accounting.
There will be no refund made in the case of a student’s being suspended from the university or removed from residence for disciplinary reasons.
Requests to be released from spring-term obligations under one of the above listed areas must be made in writing to the Office of Housing and
Residence Life prior to November 1.
Current resident students must complete a “Petition for Contract Release” form and provide the indicated documentation for verification.
This form is only for non-resident students.
