Multiplication Houses
Grades 3-6
Math:
Grade 4 B8 relate multiplication and division facts, using
principles of these operations
B9 operations demonstrate a knowledge of multiplication
• 2 sheets of construction paper
facts to 9 × 9
(different colors)
• Crayons
Grade 5 B13 perform appropriate mental multiplications
with facility
• Scissors
• Stapler
Art
• Sharpie Markers

and materials
2.1 work individually and collaboratively to apply learned
skills, solve problems, and express ideas
4.2 identify similarities and differences in their own work
and that of others
Students will create a reusable tool to help them practice
their basic multiplication facts.
Students will complete the attached blank multiplication chart within a timeframe
specified by the teacher.
Once the teacher has determined which table is most challenging for the student, they
will then build their house.
Choose the color for the front then draw a large house. Make certain the house has a
door and thirteen windows. They can be placed anywhere as long as they don’t touch
the edge of the paper.
Label each window 0-12; write the “House of ___” (which ever number has been
assigned) on the door.
Cut each window along three sides so it will open and close.
Staple the house to the other piece of construction paper then open each window and
write the answer to each multiplication problem made by the number on the door and
the number on the front of the window.
