R.I.C.H. Reading

Reading Is a Cool Habit is a PTO sponsored reading incentive program. Our goal

is to promote a love of reading and in turn create a positive habit for the children.

To participate, children need to follow the rules listed below.

 The program will run from Oct -May (8 months)

 Students keep track of the minutes they read outside of school on monthly

log sheets. Reading material may be read to the child, or read independently

 Total your minutes at the end of the month and student and parent will sign

the form

for prizes. Their minutes will be counted for monthly participation

 Students reaching the monthly reading goal will qualify for monthly prizes

 K-2 monthly goal is 225 minutes. 3-5 monthly goal is 450 minutes

 Special prizes are awarded mid-year (Jan) and end of year (May) for

students with both 75% participation and reaching the monthly goals
